ME 232FS --Modem Eliminator -Multi Speed

The ME-232FS is an RS-232/CCITT V.24 Desk Top Modem Eliminator providing DTE to DTE connection. This device eliminates the need for costly high-speed modems between control units, mini-computers, or another mainframe to your computer system by simulating a modem. The ME-232FS handles all data, timing, and control signal handshaking, eliminating the need for cross-over cables. These units have a number of selectable options to fit most applications, and operates at speeds up 115.2 Kbps and is available in either a stand-alone or nest mount configuration.

PERFORMANCE:

The ME-232FS has been designed to accommodate speeds greater than 20,000 bps over standard RS-232 cables by incorporating circuitry which enables it to reshape, regenerate, and clean-up marginal or weak signals.

By providing selectable options for forcing Data Carrier Detect (DCD), Switch carrier, Clear To Send (CTS) delays, internal data rates, synchronous and asynchronous operation, Data Terminal Ready (DTR), and Ring Indicator (RI) or wake-up control makes this Modem Eliminator extremely versatile.

The Modem Eliminator has an internal frequency synthesizer circuit which enables users to select speeds 100 bps to 115.2 Kbps in 100 Hz increments. Therefore, virtually any data rate is supported.

This device provides strap options for enabling and disabling the communications link using Data Terminal Ready (DTR) and Ring Indicator (RI) control signals for either end of the circuit.

For central site convenience, this modem eliminator is also available in a nest mount version.
