Vineyards:
This wine was produced from 3 vineyard sites in Catalonia in northeastern Spain: Vinya Junyent, Ca Mila and Can Vendrell. Approximately 13.5 hectares are planted using the double royat training method at a density of 300 vines/hectares. Calcareous clay soil is low in organic content and has good water retention qualities. Planted 200 meters above sea level, the slopes are south and west exposed. Albet i Noya practices both organic and biodynamic viticulture. Their wines are certified organic by the Spanish organization CCPAE.

Winemaking:
Harvested manually from late-August through mid-September. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 22°C over 12 days. Maceration on the skins followed for an additional 10 days with periodic pump-overs conducted. Malolactic fermentation occurred. The wine was filtered and fined prior to bottling. Because this wine was fined without the use of egg whites, it is a vegan-friendly option.
Tasting Notes:
Rich and powerful aromas of black fruits. Medium in body with non-aggressive tannins on the finish. It has a fresh finish.
Food Pairings:
An excellent accompaniment to grilled white meats or vegetable paella.
